This set of boxes was designed to
showcase the miniature finger joints that so often impress other
woodworkers I meet at craft fairs. The case opens in the
center, displaying the drawer fronts of a set of drawers made using
the tiniest finger joints. The joinery of the drawers is
visible through ports in the sides when the box is closed. |

Folding chest-of-drawers jewelry box, with 12 drawers, walnut with
maple, walnut, and cherry mosaic inlay, drawers are yellow heart and bloodwood, lined with blue felt that gives the box a nice accent.
Extruded brass hinges and magnetic catches.

This close-up of the wooden finger-joint
hinges shows the care and precision that make these boxes so
exquisite. |

The ports that expose the drawer
joinery also serve a functional purpose. Use the holes to push
the drawers open, since there are no drawer pulls to detract from
the bank of drawer fronts. |
